My name is Lubomir Blagoev and this is my first post. Yes I decided to join the blogging world. Better late than never :).
They say that the first post is about to set the style of every blog, to define what you will blog about. Well I don't think so. I am a software engineer and I like software development a lot, but this is not what I want to blog about today. Today I want write about it and more especially about a recent important change in the CPU market.
If you are following the latest CPU trends you will know who's the king of the hill for the last year in regards to computing power. This is the mightiest CONROE. Yes the code name for all Intel Core 2 Duo processors is the fastest central processing unit ever existed on earth. The reason that I am so excited about it is that it is the revolution that came so fast that by now one year after its birth no one can dispute its superiority. It is so fast that if you ever worked on it you will never want to switch back.
While the introduction to CONROE brought us to the era of super fast computing. Two days ago Intel announced massive price cuts on all its CPU portfolio. That means that they dropped the processors prices by more than a half. And now we are seeing Quad Core (Q6600) CPUs at a street price of $300. This is the real beginning of the QUAD CORE computing era. When I read the news about it I agree with the statement in http://overclockers.ru/hardnews/26135.shtml that while the future of mankind will be defined by the two expected giants AMD Barcelona and Intel Penryn, the average user will not need any of these in the near future, cause we now have CONROE's and we don't know what to do with its enormous computing power.
